In our continuing effort to VMware-ify your iPad, we have a new application available today: vCloud Client for iPad. You can do quite a lot with it:
- connect to your VM via RDP, SSH, or VNC
- create and deploy vApps
- power apps on and off
- monitor tasks that are currently running or have recently completed
- … and more! Check out this blog post for more details.
vCloud Client for iPad joins our other two iPad apps, vSphere Client for iPad and View for iPad.
DOes this let you actually administrate your ESX(i) servers?
You can do some administration tasks, like some of the basic workload operations. If there’s something specific that you want to be able to do from this client, go to our communities and tell us what you’re looking for. We’re constantly monitoring the feedback in the communities to help shape the future roadmap.
I think that I can say that there’s lots more mobile goodness coming soon. We’re doing a lot to get the mobile story right, both on the end-user side as well as the sysadmin side. If you’ve got thoughts about where you’d like to see more mobile stuff out of us (both in terms of feature requests and in terms of new applications), the aforementioned communities are the right place to tell us about it. I know that I don’t need to tell you to be verbose when you tell us what you want and why. The better we understand your workflows and your needs, the better we’re able to address it.
